Website / Blog / Branding Upgrade!
January 11, 2011We’re extremely excited to announce that Jason Hicks Photography is getting a long overdue complete re-vamp of it’s branding with a new website and blog! Blender Creative is helping us define our brand, Will Chase with Scottsdale Website Design is helping us out with the website and blog, and Christen Forrester is will serve as our marketing strategy lead.
In the meantime, please be patient with us, as we may experience some issues with the website and blog during the transition.
Thanks!

When I met Shayla and Joel in June, I immediately loved them. Shayla is from Abilene, Texas, where my sister went to school, and Joel played football for Texas Tech, a team I always root for. Shayla is incredibly nice, genuine, and down to earth. Joel is a riot and also so sweet to Shayla. Their love for each other is immediately apparent, and an encouragement to anyone who knows them! We had so much fun with their engagement session up in Cave Creek, and we can’t wait for their wedding in February at the Scottsdale Hyatt Gainey Ranch!

I’ve known Kim and Andy as long as there was a Kim & Andy. Kim is one of my sister’s best friends. She’s the sweetest, most caring person with an amazing heart. Andy is extremely smart, fun, and humble. Together, they make an amazing couple, and I am honored to photograph their wedding in May!
We started out in downtown Phoenix because that’s where Andy lives, and they spend a lot of time in central Phoenix.

When I met Kristin, I arrived soaking wet after driving almost to the Verde River Valley in a fearsome thunderstorm. We sat on her couch talking about her vision for her wedding, because she recently had surgery and couldn’t walk. Then the power went out, so we looked at my laptop in the dark! What a couple of misfits we were! Luckily, the wedding turned out to be anything but a disaster. She chose to have her wedding at the beautiful Firesky Resort, which made it easy to take great looking pictures.

Melissa and I go WAY back -all the way to high school. We hung out at lunch quite a bit, and her fun personality always made things interesting. I knew that someday she would marry an amazing man, so I couldn’t wait to meet him when I found out she was engaged! Sure enough, Mark’s an awesome guy that compliments Melissa in so many ways. Together, they are perhaps the most fun couple I know, so we should expect nothing but a ridiculously fun, out of the box wedding!
I always create little engagement photo books that make great sign in books for your wedding!
When Melissa told me her plan for her wedding day, I was blown away. She hired an urban trolley to cart the entire wedding party to Handlebar J’s and then to the Sugar Bowl for some photo shoot fun! Melissa can always be counted on for creative ideas.
The reception at the McCormick Country Club under a veranda on the lake was simply gorgeous. The whole reception was mastered by Encore Creative. Check them out, because everything they do is top notch. Their flowers, decorations, and even their DJ’s are incredible.
Mark and Melissa’s rings were made by master gem setter and great guy, Gary, over at Gems Fine Jewelry. Gary truly loves the art of jewelry making, and his prices are great, so you should definitely pay him a visit.
Mark and Melissa, thank you both for letting me help make your wedding spectacular. If you like our work, please spread the word, leave a comment, share us on Facebook, and tell your engaged friends about us!

Jason! These are incredible! You did such a great job of capturing our individual personalities. We loved working with you and your wife. Can’t wait until February!
My great niece is gorgeous! We haven’t met Joel yet but are looking forward to seeing him this Christmas – we know he is a wonderful young man!
